Shōhaku first studied painting with the Kanō painter Keiho Takada and later switched to the classic Chinese style of Jasoku Soga. This gallery includes ten of Shōhaku’s bird or flower-and-bird paintings. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Shōhaku used mostly shades of gray in his paintings.
